History:
A&L Line Construction (A&L) has been providing high voltage services since 1977. During this time, it has grown to become one of Ontario’s leaders in the design, construction, and maintenance of transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems.
A&L has earned a reputation for delivering top quality workmanship, safely, and on time.
A&L’s client list includes major mining companies like Agrium, Aurico Gold, Barrick Gold, Detour Gold, Glencore, Goldcorp, HudBay Minerals, KGHM International, Kinross Gold Corporation, Rubicon Minerals, Vale, and Wesdome Gold.
It also includes major engineering firms, developers, and utilities like ABB, Aecon, AMEC Engineering, BBA Engineering, Bestech Engineering, Brookfield Power, Greater Sudbury Utilities, Hatch Associates, North Bay Hydro, Northland Power, Ontario Power Generation, Peter Kiewit and Sons, Siemens, SNC Lavalin, Stuart Olson, and Stantec Engineering.

It is the policy of A&L Line Construction to establish, document, implement and maintain a quality management system in order to continually improve its effectiveness.
A&L has achieved ISO 9001 certification by the International Organization for Standardization, with respect to its exhaustive quality management system. This standard addresses various aspects of quality management, and is used by A&L to ensure that our products and services are meeting customer requirements and that our quality standards are continually improving.
This has assisted A&L in performing its work safely, in complying with all regulatory requirements, and in meeting expected completion dates to the total satisfaction of its clients.
Health and Safety:
A&L Line Construction is committed to the prevention of occupational illness and injury for all of its employees. Its health and safety goals include the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace, the prevention of accidents and incidents, and to meet and/or exceed legislated health and safety requirements.
A&L is committed to the continual improvement of its health and safety performance and it will authorize the necessary actions to achieve this objective. To accomplish this, all personnel from management to workers are engaged.
A&L’s workers continually update their training, all of which is logged on “Worker Training Matrices” for ease of monitoring.
A&L’s on-road and off-road RBD Boom Trucks and Aerial Devices are well maintained. All inspections and certifications are logged on “Equipment Certification Matrices” for ease of monitoring.
Environment:
A&L Line Construction is committed to developing its activities in ways that are compatible with the conservation of the environment in accordance with the following points:
- To meet the requirements of the environmental legislation and its clients.
- To consider the environment in its job planning.
- To implement environmental procedures (i.e. refueling procedures, waste management, spill response etc.)
- To ensure that personnel are familiar with A&L’s environmental policies and procedures.
